Back to the grindstone

I've been back at work for a few days now and it's ALL good, has to be done ;) Tobago is a beautiful place, we absolutely love it. Julie is on Sunflower now up the top of the island at Charlleteville anchored off Pirates Bay. I went over on the ferry to Trinidad a couple of weeks ago for a night to have a look at Chagarama's facilities for hauling out and leaving Julie with Sunflower while I went back to work. It was pretty impressive although bloody hot and not a great place to just hang out and the anchorage over at TTSA wasn't that flash although they do have moorings you can go on. The easterly comes straight in there so quite rolly but sheltered from the west if in the unlikely event a hurricane did come through but then you would have a lot of other boats around and probably be more dangerous?? So I just grabbed a few boat parts and a few other bits and pieces to keep Julie busy with while I'm back at work and then headed back on the ferry to Tobago. We then made the decision to stay in Charlottesville in the nice safe quiet anchorage while I fly back to Australia. There are about 15 other yachts anchored in the bay from all over the world and a really good crew. There are 3 other boats with the wives only aboard while the husbands are away working so Julie feels very happy (lots of socialising) with that and also a very nice Argentinian couple she is hanging out with a lot, so happy days.
The last few weeks hanging out with Julie on the beach were brilliant we had a fine time.
Then it was time for me to leave and we hired a car with the Argentinian couple and drove to the main town to drop me off at the ferry nice and early.......sorry all tickets are sold!!!! Shit, #%¥+ ahhhhhh NO, it's Tuesday and for some bloody reason a major holiday!! I have a flight from Trinidad at midnight onto New York then to Australia, I feel sick with panic. The town is gridlocked with cars like we have never seen before, this is not good. Off to the airport to buy a standby ticket and wait with the other 50 people. It's 1oclock and there's a flight every hour but after 4 hours and nobody getting standby seats it's not looking good at all. I must have pleaded with the right guy and I got the 9pm flight to Trinidad somehow he got me on and I could make my way back to Perth. I can't remember ever feeling so stressed, that could have been a serious amount of money lost in flights trying to get back in time for work, lesson learnt....book the bloody ferry!!!!
After some serious delays in NY and then Dubai I made it home after nearly 3 days and had a fantastic weekend with family and friends in Perth so happy days. Now just 5 more weeks of work and I'll be back :)
